The Blacklist Getting Possible Spinoff Starring Famke Jannsen
NBC is developing a potential spinoff of The Blacklist, starring X-Men and Taken actress Famke Jannsen.
The Hollywood Reporter says that Jannsen will be introduced in the May 5th episode of The Blacklist, as Susan “Scottie” Halsted. The plan being developed would then have the May 12th episode serve as a backdoor pilot that would center on her character, setting up the spinoff.
While details are limited, sources tell THR Jannsen’s character might be the mother of Tom Keen (portrayed by Ryan Eggold) on The Blacklist. Justified’s Michael Dinner will reportedly direct the backdoor pilot episode.
Sony Pictures Television and Davis Entertainment, the studios behind The Blacklist, are also producing the spinoff. Meanwhile, Jon Bokenkamp, John Eisendrath, John Davis, John Fox and Michael Watkins are set to executive produce. THR also notes that some other familiar faces from The Blacklist would be a part of the new series, should it move forward.
